AUNT GERDA'S CRANBERRY MOUSSE 
1 (20 oz.) can crushed pineapple in own juice
1 (6 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jello
1 c. water
1 can whole berry cranberry sauce
3 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tsp. fresh grated lemon peel
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. chopped pecans

Drain pineapple well, save juice. Add juice to Jello in saucepan. Stir in water, heat to boiling to dissolve Jello. Remove from heat. Blend in cranberry sauce. Add lemon juice, peel and nutmeg.

Chill until mixture thickens slightly. Blend sour cream into Jello mixture. Fold in pineapple and pecans. Pour into 2 quart mold. Chill until firm. Unmold onto serving plate.

Sorry! Aunt Gerda may have made it a tradition in your family, but the recipe came off the back of a Dole crushed pineapple can. I should know - my grandma has been making it all these years too. However, my grandma kept the original paper the recipe was printed on and that's where it came from. Thought I'd give credit where it was due.
