FRESH APPLE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. Crisco oil
3 eggs
3 c. flour (plain)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. chopped apples
4 tbsp. water
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. coconut

Combine the first 3 ingredients. Beat until light and fluffy. Sift flour, salt, and soda. Beat in dry ingredients. Add the water and vanilla. Beat until well mixed. Fold in the nuts, coconut and apples. Bake in tube pan (grease and flour pan). Bake 1 hour and 25 minutes may have to bake a little longer, if not done when cake is tested. 350 degree oven.
