1/2 c. white sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
1/8 tsp. salt
1 egg + 2 egg yolks
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sliced strawberries

Combine dry ingredients, add egg and milk. Add butter. Cook until very thick, stirring constantly. Add vanilla and 1 1/2 cups sliced strawberries while hot. Stir well. Makes 1 small pie. Add meringue.
