DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES 
2 1/4 c. unsifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. butter, softened
1/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (4 oz.) pkg. Jello chocolate instant pudding and pie filling
2 eggs
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 c. nuts, chopped

Mix flour and baking soda. Combine shortening, sugars, vanilla and pudding mix in large bowl. Beat until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add flour mixture. Stir in chips and nuts. Batter will be stiff. Drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes. You may use vanilla pudding for a light cookie.
