BUTTERY CAKE | |
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened 1 (17 oz.) pkg. pound cake mix 4 eggs 1 lb. powdered sugar (3 1/2 c. to 1 lb.) 1/2 c. melted butter 1 c. chopped pecans (or walnuts) 1 tsp. vanilla Combine cake mix, butter and 2 eggs. Beat 1 minute. Spread into 13"x9"x2" pan. Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy. Beat in 2 eggs and vanilla. Set aside 1/2 cup powdered sugar. Beat the remaining sugar into cheese mixture. Spread over batter. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes or until cake pulls away from pan. Cool, sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup powdered sugar. |
