TURTLE CAKE 
1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
1/4 lb. butter
1 (14 oz.) pkg. caramels
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 c. chopped pecans
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Mix cake mix as directed on package. Bake half of the batter in a well greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 inch pan in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Melt together butter, caramels and milk. Cool butter mixture slightly and pour over baked half of cake. Pour over this the remaining cake batter. Sprinkle with pecans and then chocolate chips. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. To serve, top with whipped cream, if you desire. Serves 16 plus.
