BUTTER NUT CAKE 
1 c. shortening, cream for 15 minutes
2 c. sugar, cream for 15 minutes
1 tbsp. flavoring, vanilla
4 eggs, one at a time
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1/2 c. self-rising flour
Dash of salt
1 c. sweet milk

Bake in a tube pan at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

FROSTING:

2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. flavoring
1/2 stick butter
2 tbsp. canned milk
