APPLESAUCE COOKIES 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/4 cup shortening (I use Crisco)
1 1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups applesauce
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
raisins (optional)
chopped nuts (optional)

Mix together and drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350°F for 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes about 5 dozen.

I just wanted to say that these cookies are sooo good.. But instead of just one flavor of applesauce.. I did 2 different ones and it was soooo good :) I used regular applesauce and applebutter :) SOOO good.. The applebutter gave it extra spices :) YUMMY! Then I sprinkled a mix of sugar and cinnamon on top of each individual cookie :) Thank you so much!
