2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. salt
3 tbsp. cooking oil
1 tbsp. powdered alum
Food coloring
3 to 4 c. flour

Mix first 5 ingredients together until salt is almost completely dissolved. Add 3 cups flour. Knead. Add additional flour as needed for desired consistency. Stores well in an airtight container at room temperature for several months.
