ORANGE ROLLS | |
1 pkg. yeast 1/4 c. warm water 1 c. sugar, divided 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1/2 c. sour cream 1/2 c. melted butter 3 1/2 c. flour 2 tbsp. grated orange rind In mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add with mixer 1/4 cup sugar, salt, eggs, sour cream and 6 tablespoons melted butter. Beat in 2 cups flour, beat until smooth. Knead in rest of flour. Knead until smooth and elastic. Place in greased bowl, cover with damp dish towel and let rise until double. Punch down and knead a few times. Divide in half. Roll each piece into 12-inch circle. Mix 3/4 cup sugar and orange rind. Brush dough with melted butter, sprinkle with sugar and rind mixture. Cut into 12 wedges. Roll up, starting at large end. Place point side down in greased pan and let rise 1 hour. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, 1/2 cup sour cream, 2 tablespoons orange juice and 1/2 cup butter; bring to boil and cook 3 minutes. Pour over rolls while hot. |
