MOIST APPLE CAKE | |
4 c. apples, finely diced 2 eggs 2 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. nuts 2 c. sugar 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. vanilla Mix apples and sugar together. Let stand until sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Add eggs and beat. Stir into the apple mixture, flour, soda, cinnamon, nuts, and vanilla; mix well. Pour into a 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or until done. TOPPING: 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. flour 1/4 lb. butter 1/2 c. white sugar 1 c. water 1 tsp. vanilla Cook sugar, flour, and water until clear. Add butter and thoroughly melt. Pour over the cake while both are hot. |
