OVERNIGHT COFFEE CAKE SWIRL | |
1 c. flour 1/4 c. sugar 1/4 c. brown sugar (packed) 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/3 c. shortening 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. buttermilk 1 egg Grease and flour bottom of 9 inch round pan. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. Combine all cake ingredients. Blend at low speed until moistened. Beat 3 minutes at medium speed. Spread in prepared pan. TOPPING: 1/4 c. packed brown sugar 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 c. chopped nuts Blend topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Cover, refrigerate overnight (can bake immediately). Preheat oven to 350 degrees, bake 20 to 25 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. |
