STU'S FAMOUS GRILL'S TURKEY | |
1 (15-20 lb.) turkey (place thermometer in by thigh) Salt Vegetable oil Spices & condiments In a quart jar put about 1-1 1/2 inches of salt (will not effect taste of turkey). Add about 1 1/2 inches of oil. Add any and every spice and condiment you can think of (ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, A-1 sauce, anything! - and I've seen some strange things put in). Shake extremely well. Place turkey on grill after making fire in kettle grill with coals separated and drop pan in center. You can use rack or place right on grill. Pour mixture into cavity. Cook until thermometer reads 165 degrees then let sit for 1/2 hour. Takes about 2 hours for 20 pound turkey. If you try this, you will never cook a turkey in the oven again, I promise! |
