GRANDMA'S IRISH SODA BREAD | |
4 c. all purpose flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt 4 oz. butter, softened 1 c. granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 1/4 c. buttermilk 1 tbsp. caraway seeds 1 c. raisins 1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well until blended, batter will be stiff. 2. Butter a black iron 10" frying pan. Place batter in pan and slash top with razor blade in shape of an "X". 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
