CRISPY CORN DOGS 
1 c. flour
3/4 c. cornmeal
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. shortening (melted)
Oil for frying
12 wieners
12 skewers

Combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, mustard, baking powder and salt. Add milk, egg and shortening. Mix until smooth. Pour mixture into tall glass. Put wieners on skewers. Dip one at a time into batter. Fry until golden brown in 375 degree oil. Drain on paper towel.
