FRUIT COBBLER 
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
1 stick butter, melted in bottom of pan
1 lb. 13 oz. can fruit (peaches best)

Mix sugar, flour, baking powder and milk and pour evenly over butter (in 6 x 9 or 9 x 9 inch pan). In bottom of pan arrange fruit evenly on top of other ingredients. Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar if fruit is unsweetened (1/2 cup if fruit is in heavy syrup).

Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees until top is crusty brownish. Serve with ice cream or milk.
