1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
3 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. boiling water
1 c. raisin, grind raisin

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, beat well. Sift flour and spices together. Pour boiling water and soda over raisins. Add to the flour and sugar mixture.
