BRAN MUFFINS 
2 c. boiling water
2 c. Nabisco bran
2 c. white sugar
1 heaping c. Crisco
4 eggs
1 qt. buttermilk
5 c. flour
5 tsp. baking soda
4 c. Kellogg's Bran Buds

Pour hot water over bran and cool. Cream together sugar and Crisco. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add buttermilk to sugar and shortening. Add flour and soda to other ingredients. Blend in Bran Buds.

This mix can be kept in the refrigerator up to 2 weeks. For a variety, you can add raisins or cut up dates to these. Bake for 20 minutes in 400 degree oven.
