1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. chocolate chips

Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients. Stir into creamed mixture. Blend well and stir in chocolate chips. Drop from a spoon 2" apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet immediately. Makes 5 dozen.
