VEGETABLE MARINADE 
4 stalks broccoli, flowerets only, cut in bite size pieces
1 sm. head cauliflower, flowerets only, cut in bite size pieces
8 lg. mushrooms, sliced
1 sweet onion, sliced or grated
1 med. green pepper, diced
4 carrots, sliced

Mix the vegetables together and marinate at least 3 hours in the following:

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. oil
1 tsp. salt
2/3 c. vinegar
2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tbsp. poppy seeds, optional

Prepare veggies. Mix the marinade well and pour into veggies; stir gently. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or overnight.
