1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Cream sugars, Crisco, egg and vanilla. Combine flour, salt and soda; stir into creamed mixture. Blend in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Remove from sheet immediately. Makes 3 dozen.
