ITALIAN KNOTS 
Mix like pie dough:

5 c. flour
1 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 c. butter

Make a well and add:

3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tbsp. almond, vanilla or anise extract
3/4 c. milk (approx.)

Mix by hand.

Take small pieces of dough, roll about 5 inches long, tie into knot and place on lightly greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees until set.

ICING:

1 lb. powdered sugar
4 tbsp. warm milk
1/4 tsp. flavoring
1 tbsp. butter

Beat with mixer.
