CHOCOLATE PIE - THE BEST 
3 tbsp. flour
3 tbsp. cocoa
3/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 or 3 egg yolks
2 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (9 inch) baked pastry shell

Mix sugar, cocoa, flour and salt. Add egg yolks; reserve whites for meringue. Add milk and cook in double boiler until mixture is thick. Add butter and vanilla. Pour in pie shell and top with meringue.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites, beaten
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
