FIRST RATE CHOCOLATE CREAM PIE 
6 tbsp. flour
6 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
4 c. milk
4 tbsp. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
4 egg yolks, reserve whites for meringue
2 9" baked pie crusts

Mix flour, cocoa, sugar and salt. Add egg yolks, stir. Add milk, cook in top of a double boiler over simmering water until thick. Remove from heat. Add butter and vanilla. Pour into pastry shells.

MERINGUE:

Beat egg whites until they form soft peaks. Gradually beat in 8 tablespoons sugar and continue beating until stiff peaks form but not dry. Spread meringue over filling completely sealing to edge of crust. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 2 pies.
