PRUNE CAKE 
3 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. Wesson oil (Crisco oil will do if you use it)
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. plain flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. nuts
1 c. cooked prunes

Mix flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and soda together. Cream oil and butter. Add eggs to oil and butter, one at a time, beating after each one. Add alternately with buttermilk to dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Pour into greased pan and bake at 350 degrees.

SAUCE:

1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. sugar
1/4 lb. butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. white Karo syrup

Cook until smooth, pour over cake.
