MAPLE BREAD PUDDING 
8 slices French bread, about 1/2 inch thick
1/4 lb. butter
4 eggs
2/3 c. maple syrup
1 tbsp. dark rum
Salt to taste
Dash of cinnamon
2 c. half & half

Toast bread on both sides lightly and butter on one side well. Place toast buttered side up in buttered baking dish. In bowl, beat eggs; stir in maple syrup and rum, salt and cinnamon. Stir in half and half and pour mixture over bread. Place baking dish in pan of hot water. Bake in preheated oven at 375 degrees for 35 minutes or until custard is set.
