GEORGIA BREAD PUDDING | |
2 c. homogenized milk 1 c. sugar 1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk 4 egg yolks 1/3 c. butter, melted 1/3 c. raisins 1 tsp. vanilla 1/8 tsp. cinnamon 1/8 tsp. nutmeg 9 slices white bread, cubed Mix sugar, milks and egg yolks together thoroughly. Add melted butter, raisins, vanilla and spices; mix well. Add bread cubes to mixture and toss to saturate bread. Pour mixture into a buttered 8 x 8 inch baking dish. Bake in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes until pudding is lightly browned and set. Allow to cool before cutting. (It gets firmer and is easier to cut when cool.) Cut into squares. Yields 8 to 9 servings. I like a pudding sauce over the top. |
