1 c. light brown sugar
3 slices buttered white bread
2 c. milk
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt

Put brown sugar in top of double boiler. Cut buttered bread into 1 inch squares and add to sugar. Beat eggs with milk. Add vanilla and salt. Add to bread and sugar. Put top of double boiler over bottom of double boiler to which water has been added. Cook for 60 minutes. Brown sugar will form sauce for pudding.
