HOT DOG CONEY SAUCE | |
4 1/2 lb. ground beef 2-3 oz. minced onion 2 garlic cloves, minced 3 (29 oz.) ea. cans tomato sauce (Hunts) 1-2 tbsp. onion powder 1-2 tbsp. garlic powder 2 tbsp. chili powder (more or less) 1 tbsp. salt 1-2 tsp. ground cumin juice from one freshly squeezed lemon Brown ground beef with minced onion and garlic. Place in Crock-Pot with remaining ingredients. Allow to slow cook on LOW for several hours, about 8 to 10 hours to allow flavor to distribute. Note: Add more or less chili powder, depending on preference. Makes a large amount, which is either ideal for a party or to freeze in quart-sized freezer bags for up to six months.
