MARGARET SEVERN'S ICEBOX COOKIES 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. finely chopped pecans
3 1/2 c. flour

Cream together the butter and brown sugar, beat in the eggs, sift together the dry ingredients and beat into the mixture, add the chopped nuts.

On a long piece of waxed paper shape the dough into a log and roll up. Refrigerate several hours or store in refrigerator or freezer until ready to bake.

To bake: slice into very thin 1/8 inch thick slices and bake on lightly oiled baking sheet at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

These are delicately crunchy and wonderful with ice cream.
