1 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. grated nutmeg

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Combine flour, spices and soda. Blend all together thoroughly. Shape into 3 rolls and wrap in wax paper and in freezer paper. Place in refrigerator or freezer. Slice and bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove from pan immediately.
