APPLESAUCE PIES 
1/4 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
1 can applesauce
A little water
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cans milk
4 egg yolks

Beat egg whites separately. Melt butter and mix with sugar and flour. Add can of applesauce and rinse can out with a little water, add slightly beaten egg yolks and vanilla. Mix well, then add 2 cans of milk. In separate bowl beat egg whites until stiff and fold in with the rest of the ingredients. Pour into pie shells and bake at 350 degrees until firm and a golden brown on top.
