WESTERN CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. oil
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. green pepper
1 c. raw rice
2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes
1 c. water
2 tsp. salt
2 or 3 tsp. chili powder, optional
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Brown beef in the oil. Remove meat from pan. Into the same pan, add the onions, celery, green pepper and rice and cook, stirring until browned. Add the tomatoes, water, seasoning and meat and bring to a boil. Pour into a 2 quart casserole and cover. Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour. 6 to 8 servings.
