PEACH PRALINE SHORTCAKE | |
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed 1/3 c. shortening 1/2 c. chopped pecans 1 egg 3/4 c. milk 4 c. sliced fresh peaches, sweetened 1 c. dairy sour cream 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed Measure flour, baking powder, salt and soda into bowl. Cut in 1/2 cup brown sugar and the shortening thoroughly until mixture looks like meal. Stir in pecans. Combine egg and milk; stir into flour mixture just until blended. Pat into greased round 8-inch layer pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes. Split shortcake while warm. Fill and top with peaches. Blend sour cream and a 1/2 cup brown sugar. Serve with shortcake. |
