DOUGH: 8 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 tsp. salt 6 egg yolks 1 1/2 c. butter 2 c. warm milk 1 cake yeast FILLING: 2 lbs. nuts, ground 2 c. milk 1 c. sugar 1/4 lb. butter 6 egg whites, beaten Boil nuts, milk, sugar, and butter. Put in beaten egg whites; bring to a boil. Dissolve yeast in milk. Make dough out of flour, sugar, salt, yolks, and butter. Best to work this with hands. Add yeast, milk mixture. Allow this dough to stand in refrigerator overnight. Divide dough to size needed and roll out. Spread with nut filling and roll up jelly roll fashion. Allow to raise 1/2 hour. Bake 45 minutes at 375 degrees. |
