POPCORN BALLS 
2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. white Karo
1 1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 scant tsp. vinegar
Pinch of cream of tartar

Boil to crack stage (small, hair-like strings fly away from dripping spoon). Pour over 2 large poppers of popcorn. Stir with large spoon (will be very hot). Butter hands frequently while making into balls.
