1 c. corn syrup
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 tsp. baking soda
4 qts. popped popcorn

Boil syrup, sugar and cream of tartar to soft ball stage. Add butter, soda and vinegar. Pour over popcorn and make into balls when cool.
