POPCORN BALLS 
2/3 c. corn syrup
2 c. white sugar
2/3 c. boiling water
2 tbsp. melted butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/8 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. unpopped popcorn
Food coloring

Put syrup, sugar and water in pan, heat to boiling, then add cream of tartar, boil to soft crack (candy thermometer), remove from fire, add butter, vanilla, soda and food color. Pour over popped popcorn and form into balls. Speed is important here! Dipping hands into water sometimes helps stickiness.
