CHEESE GRITS | |
1 c. hominy grits 4 c. boiling water 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs (well beaten) Milk (with eggs to make 1 c.) 6 oz. roll garlic cheese (cut up) 1/2 c. butter (1 stick) Cook grits in boiling water until thick - stir constantly. Take off heat. Add milk to beaten eggs to make 1 cup and stir into grits. Stir in cheese and butter until melted. Pour into 3-quart baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Can be made early in the morning and bake just before serving. Bake 50 minutes then. |
