MOTHER'S BROCCOLI AND RICE
CASSEROLE
 
1 med. onion
3 tbsp. butter
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. milk
1/2 lb. pasteurized process cheese
3 c. cooked rice
2 pkg. frozen, chopped broccoli
Almonds for topping

Saute onion in butter. Add soup, milk, and cheese, reserving enough cheese for topping. Heat. Fold in rice and broccoli, thawed enough to break into pieces. Pour into greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch casserole dish. Cover with remaining cheese. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Top with slivered almonds.
