QUICK FRUIT DESSERT 
4 1/2 c. fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, peaches,
apples, cherries)
1 c. sugar (divided into halves)
1 stick butter, softened
1 c. self-rising flour
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Place fruit in a slightly greased 8 inch square baking dish. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar. Set aside.

Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar. Blend well. Add self-rising flour and egg; mix well. Stir in vanilla and spoon mixture over sugared fruit.

Bake 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Great with whipped topping or ice cream.
