PEAR STREUSEL PIE | |
3/4 c. chopped pecans or walnuts 1 single 9 inch pastry shell, unbaked 6 med. pears 1/3 c. sugar 1/3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/4 tsp. salt STREUSEL TOPPING: 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/3 c. flour 1 tsp. cinnamon 3 tbsp. butter Prepare pastry shell. Chill while preparing filling. Pare, core, and slice pears; turn into mixing bowl. Add sugar, flour, nutmeg, and salt to pears. Mix until pear slices are thoroughly coated. Turn into pastry shell. Top with nuts. Top with Streusel Topping. Bake at 375 degrees for 40-50 minutes or until crust is golden and topping is light brown. Topping: In small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Add butter and blend with fork; blend until mixture is the texture of coarse crumbs. |
