GINGER BREAD 
1 c. shortening, melted
1 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. milk
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Add shortening to molasses. Then add egg and milk. Sift dry ingredients and add to liquid mixture. Stir only enough to blend well and make smooth. Bake 20 minutes in a greased pan.
