SWEET PRUNE WHIP 
1 lb. pitted prunes
2 egg whites
1/2 c. sugar to sweeten

Soak prunes overnight in hot water. Boil in cold water until soft. Beat egg whites stiff with sugar. Drain prunes but save some juice. Fold in the egg whites to cooled prunes. Add some juice if needed.

My mother served this during World War II but did not have any sugar at that time without stamps. Prunes and egg whites only but was sweet and refreshing. Thanks for the memories.
