SAVORY BAKED PORK CHOPS 
3 tbsp. melted butter
3/4 c. chopped onion
1 tbsp. chopped parsley
1/4 c. seedless raisins
1/2 c. chopped apple, peeled
1/3 c. water
1 1/2 c. prepared bread stuffing
2 tbsp. shortening
8 pork chops, 3/4 inch thick
8 thick slices Spanish onion

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Toss butter, onion, parsley, raisins, apple, water, and bread stuffing. Melt shortening in skillet, brown chops on both sides. Place in a flat baking dish. Top each with 1 slice onion and a mound of stuffing. Cover and bake 25 minutes. Serves 6 to 8.
