DEVILED SWISS STEAK | |
1 c. sliced onions 3 tbsp. shortening 1 1/2 lb. sirloin or rib steak 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce 1 tbsp. brown sugar Pinch of pepper 1 clove garlic, crushed 2 c. canned tomatoes 1 c. water 1 tbsp. dry mustard 1 1/2 tsp. salt Pinch of paprika In skillet saute onions and garlic in shortening until brown. Cut meat into 3"x2" pieces. Dredge in seasoned flour, saute in skillet with onions until well browned; mix together tomatoes, water and dry ingredients; pour over meat; simmer 1 1/2 hours. |
