CRACKLIN BREAD 
1 c. cracklings
1 1/2 c. meal
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
4 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp. melted fat

Sift together dry ingredients and stir in the cracklings. Beat the egg in the buttermilk and add. Have melted fat in hot skillet and pour into batter. Bake at 450 degrees until golden brown. Crisp bacon may be substituted for cracklings but is not the same flavor.
