LINDA'S WEIGHT WATCHERS MILK
SHAKE

1 3/ c. powdered non-fat milk
1/3 c. cold water
1 packet Equal or sweetener to taste
1 tsp. vanilla or other flavor
7 - 12 crushed ice cubes

Blend powdered non-fat milk, water, sweetener and flavoring in a blender until non-fat milk powder is all dissolved. Add ice cubes and crush or blend on "liquefy" until thick and creamy. Any extract or flavoring of your choice works nicely. Example: 1/2 teaspoon rum extract plus 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring; or 1/2 teaspoon banana extract or 1/2 teaspoon coconut extract or 1 teaspoon strawberry flavoring. Be Creative! Vary your milk shakes by varying the extracts. For fruit milk shakes, add any fresh fruit before adding ice. 1/2 banana tastes very good this way. 1/2 cup berries may be added. Be creative. This is a very low-calorie, tasty drink that I enjoy in the summer. Makes 1 serving (1 - 2 cups).

Many thanks to Linda for the WW Milkshake recipe. I have been looking for about 2 years now w/no luck--not even on WW Website! I remember(ed) the recipe except for the ratio of powdered milk to water. This might not sound very tasty to those not needing to watch/bring down their weight; however, I'm sooooooooo glad I tried it at home as I was delightfully surprised: This tastes just like a 'real' shake! Honest! And it is simple, quick, easy, cheap to make. I just have one suggestion (and this is the difference in the recipe I learned while member of WW way back 40 years ago! Just this: When you want to add fruit, we didn't use fresh fruit ice cubes. We only used cubes IF we didn't use fruit (but still use flavoring extract). Use FROZEN W/NO ADDED SUGAR IF DIETING) (IQF is best) but any frozen fruit (unpitted) will work. Add the frozen fruit (1 cup) IN PLACE OF the ice cubes. That's how it worked for me! Love it! O.K., you can also use ice (1 cup) without any fruit (but use flavor extract still) and whip it up like Linda says. When it's nice and thick and dumped into container you're using, slice up a banana (into little circles) and fold in. You can also add walnut pieces. I added both banana and walnut extract w/my banana & walnut goodie. you then eat it with a spoon. Yummy! You could also do it, I suppose, as a blender milk shake.--Marty

I like using zero sugar root beer, powdered milk, vanilla, ice cubes. Sometimes I use zero sugar, banana, strawberry, or orange. Both are great!
