2 1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. evaporated milk
16 lg. marshmallows or 1 cup of marshmallow fluff
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp.s alt

Stir constantly while cooking over medium heat to a boil (mixture will be bubbling all over top). Boil and stir 5 minutes more. Take off heat. Stir in completely 6 ounce package of semi-sweet chocolate bits (1 cup), 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 cup of chopped walnuts (if desired). Spread in buttered 8 x 8 inch square pan. Cool and cut into 30 pieces.
