SANTA'S WHISKERS 
1 c. butter
2 tbsp. milk
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3/4 c. flaked coconut
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla or rum flavor
3/4 c. red or green candied cherries, finely chopped

Cream butter and sugar. Blend in milk and vanilla. Stir in flour, candied cherries, and nuts. Form in 2 rolls, each 2 inches in diameter. Roll in coconut. Wrap and chill several hours, or overnight. Slice 1/4 inch thick; place on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
